Soft Launch of ‘Aim Wider’ – Empowering Adults with High Support Needs Gain Jobs in Open Employment
Community Bridging Services (CBS) Inc. is proud to announce the soft launch of Aim Wider, a new service built on many years’ experience helping to prepare and find jobs for people with a disability within businesses and governments. Aim Wider will help more adults with high support needs take real steps to find and keep a job in open employment and build a developing career just like everyone else.
Funded through the Australian Government Department for Social Services’ (DSS) Structural Adjustment Fund, Aim Wider builds upon the success of our Aim Higher program – a program for youth leaving school. Aim Wider will support adults over 18 years with high support needs who are currently working in Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs), formally known as sheltered workshops, as well as those who want to work but don’t know where to start. Aim Wider builds on the fact that many people with a disability do not do an open employment work experience placement while at school. Aim Wider will help people explore and plan career pathways, build skills, confidence and networks to move into open employment.
Freddie Brincat OAM, CBS Inc. Founder and Executive Director said “Aim Wider will support adults with a disability both in Adelaide and some regions of SA, to have higher and wider work goals, increase their income and make more choices and friends at work both with and without a disability. This leads to increase independence, superannuation and hopefully more fulfilling life opportunities.”
We invite media, community members, and supporters to join us for the soft launch event as we share more about the program and celebrate this important milestone.
