🌟 We're looking back through this year's event highlight reel! 🌟Community Bridging Services (CBS) Inc. is proud to partner with Flinders University to offer the first-ever scholarship designed to support a student with disability. The scholarship is awarded to a Flinders University student in any discipline, who can demonstrate how their studies support a career focused on community engagement. The benefits of being awarded the scholarship include $3,000, which the recipient can spend on anything they feel would assist their studies on campus or online. The aim of the scholarship is to remove additional barriers students with disability may face when studying, while encouraging a community-minded approach to life. At a special event held on October 18 at the Skydeck in Adelaide, the first scholarship was awarded to student Leilani Arens for their outstanding application and engagement in Primary Teacher Education. They gave a moving and inspirational speech on accepting the award (which will soon be available on our website), receiving a standing ovation. We look forward to supporting more students in years to come - applications for the 2023 Community Bridging Services Scholarship will open in early 2023. 👨‍🎓👩‍🎓 ... Checking in with our CBS Inc. Amelia Rix Award winner at work 👉Sean was very excited to share his award win with his team at Whyalla Hose and Fittings. 🎖On his win, Sean shared with us, "I’m so grateful for the opportunity that Dave Bruce, Ross Campbell and Jarrod Starkey have given me. I can't repay what Tricia from CBS Inc has done for me with her give-it-a-go attitude. CBS Inc doesn't treat you like a client. You actually feel like family. Also, a big thank you to the rest of the staff at CBS Inc Whyalla, Freddie and all the people who sponsor the Amelia Rix Award. I think I will use the prize money to learn extra skills or buy tools.” Sean also volunteers at the local Triple Y radio station a few days a week - he sure is a dedicated and passionate employee and community member. A well deserving winner!PS can you spot the Abby Hoist that we have purchased for him through JobAccess? 👀 ... See MoreSee Less
