CBS Inc. “Glimmers” SALA Exhibition Launch
Glimmers is the 24th exhibition of artists with a disability either supported by Community Bridging Services (CBS) Inc. or as a partner of CBS Inc. Glimmers reflects the talent, long term commitment and positivity the artists have to building a better life and a better community through their art practice. The exhibition is an excellent connection of art, people and life reflecting key elements of the SALA spirit.
CBS Inc. is proud to present its contribution to the 2018 SALA Festival, Glimmers, which features work from 21 artists. The exhibition will be officially opened by Rachel McElwee, Director Hahndorf Academy. Rachel said “It’s a privilege for the Hahndorf Academy to work with such talented artists. Their paintings bring joy to everybody who sees them”.
CBS Inc. is an independent not-for-profit South Australian community strengths based organisation, providing quality services to individuals with a disability to realise their full potential and achieve their goals. Services are state-wide, focussing on recreation and the arts, open employment and further education.
Freddie Brincat OAM, Executive Director of CBS Inc. said “A number of artists in Glimmers have been exhibiting for 30 years with our support that includes professional development, experimentation and enjoyment. That’s a long time and a great time. If we get the NDIS right as it relates to art, then such achievements and commitment could be multiplied tenfold.”
CBS Inc. has been committed to the arts since 1988 and currently runs four weekly art programs based at Eastwood Community Centre, Broughton Art Society (facilitated by professional artist Hans Kreiner) and Salisbury East Neighbourhood House (facilitated by Merv Chapman).
