Staying Safe & Understanding Abuse Forum – Adelaide
‘National Disability Services (NDS) SA and Health and Community Services Complaints Commission invite you to attend free forums in Adelaide and Mount Gambier about human rights, safety and preventing abuse and neglect of people with disability.
The forums will be split into two 90 minute sessions. The first session (10am-11.15am) will cover the resources and training provided by the Victorian Advocacy League for Individuals with Disability Inc (VALiD)’s ‘Staying Safe’ for people with disability, catering to people who use disability services and staff from the services who support them, and the second session (11.45am-1pm) will introduce NDS’s ‘Understanding Abuse’ e-learning and resource kit (part of NDS’s Zero Tolerance initiative). Morning tea will also be provided.
The Adelaide forum will be held at the South Australian Sea Rescue Squadron Function Centre, Barcoo Road, West Beach on Wednesday 14 June and the Mount Gambier forum will be held at the Commodore on the Park Motel (corner of Jubillee Highway and Penola Road) on Thursday 15 June 2017. People with disability and their support staff are highly encouraged to attend.
