ALTITUDE Art Exhibition in Hahndorf

ALTITUDE, a vibrant exhibition in the main gallery of the Hahndorf Academy, was officially opened by Adelaide Hills Council Deputy Mayor Dr. Jan-Claire Wisdom at 1pm on Wednesday 3rd May 2017. Other key speakers were CBS Inc. Executive Director Freddie Brincat OAM, Hahndorf Academy Director Rachel McElwee, and artist Marie Barbaliopoulos. Several dozen people attended including Isobel Redman MP (State Member for Heysen) and Dan Cregan (pre-selected candidate for the seat of Kavel).

The gallery features the work of talented artists, living with disability, who attend CBS Inc. art groups and classes with artist Hans Kreiner, and it is full of colourful paintings comprising surprising forms and distinctive personal styles. The paintings range from narrative pictorial images through to symbolic representations and broad abstractions, and four artworks had sold prior to the event. All monies received from the sale of paintings go directly to the artists.

The exhibition will run from 28 April to 21 May 2017. For more information please refer to http://hahndorfacademy.org.au and https://www.facebook.com/HahndorfAcademy/.
